Voting day

With today being the European elections, I thought that this photo would be apt.

I went to my polling station at home in Clackmannanshire this morning to vote. I was very surprised to find a lack of banners or campaigners outside the gates of the community hall. But what I have found to be equally amazing is the campaigning that has been going on over social media for the past couple of weeks, especially amongst the 18-25 age group.

A huge congratulations to all who have been campaigning today, both out in the streets and through social media. But especially to every politically engaged woman, from those campaigning to those casting their votes. Being part of a 75% female sabb team at Stirling university, having women actively involved in politics is amazing for us to be a part of. As the caption below this photo said when I seen it this morning, 'We've came a long way to get the vote. Let's use it.'
