"For God is not a God of disorder but of peace – as in all the congregations of the Lord’s people." 1 Corinthians 14:33
Today's picture is of the store room at work where I was doing some cleaning and organising. This was again part of the logging of medical devices, I decided to have a tidy up, with a bit of help!!
This Bible verse fits this scenario that God is not a God of disorder, but of peace. This is taken from Paul's writings to the church of Corinth where it appears he was addressing a situation where people all spoke at the same time and therefore, people could not learn from the prophecies or tongues could not be interpreted as everyone was talking at the same time. He was saying that God is a God of order. Of course God can hear everyone praying at the same time, but when God is speaking through someone in the case of prophecy or speaking in tongues requiring interpretation, these words need to be heard.
This chapter also controversially goes on to say that women should be silent (which I don't really want to get into), which has been interpreted in so many different ways. Again it would seem from the little bit of looking around that I have done that Paul is addressing a specific situation in the church of Corinth, there are various theories on what this situation may have been, but the overarching theme seems to be that everyone needs to learn self-control from this chapter.
