Ceiling art

I'm in Madrid at the moment on a work trip #PSIUK.

With a couple of hours to kill this morning I had planned to sit in the sun in the Parque del Buen Retiro, but the weather has not been obliging. Cool, windy and ever so slightly damp meant a change of plan.

This is the beautiful ceiling of Catedral De Nostra Senora de la Almudena. Evidently it took 350 years to complete and is surprisingly modern inside, but the ceilings of the knave and dome are stunning.

The City is gearing up for a busy night on Saturday with Real and Atletico Madrid playing in the final of the Champions League on Saturday night (I think that's right) with all the fountains and major statues in the centre of town cordoned off. I won't be here on the night but I bet the atmosphere will be amazing.
