Tea bread

I've been thinking about retirement over the past couple of days - how my life has changed since I retired from the OU last year. I was concerned about losing the friendships within my work community and wondered how I would be able to replace this with new communities and new life structures. And I think I have....But it's not easy, making the transition from one world of 'work' to a very different one of 'leisure'.

I still hear what some colleagues are doing through blip (thank you blip friends!) and I know from their blips how the employment world for some of them will mean big changes.

And then I heard yesterday through a contact that one of my dear ex-colleagues, O, is in hospital. Last time I saw her (some time ago now) she gave me her recipe for tea bread, so yesterday I made it, and this is the result. And as I mixed the ingredients I thought of her and recalled happy memories of the time when we worked together.
