That Hug

I went into work today, blue as the sky, feeling down about the way certain events have unfolded, and to my surprise, my student gave me a couple of rolls with awesome peppered ham. Completely unexpected, and undeserved, but wow! I'm so grateful. It was a good lunch in the sun, taking in the wind, the atmosphere and re-evaluating how I perceive a particular aspect of my life. I've been through this problem before and even though the wound is relatively fresh, I understand that time helps heal. I had the same problem ten years ago or so which felt so traumatic at the time, but now, it's just another hurdle. The same as before, sadly to be forgotten in the future. Oh well, c'est la vie.

Sometimes you get that "hug" out of nowhere, events change and provide light into the soul of your life. Suddenly, all that happened before doesn't matter. It never did. So what are you going to do? GET OVER IT!

Tomorrow begins now. It's the only thing I can tell myself before subsiding into eventual darkness.
