Fountain

In the tourist booklet this is actually called the PPG Place Water Feature. Walking around downtown Pittsburgh on a Sunday morning is obviously the best time to get a photo without loads of people in it. I managed to overlook a large orange safety cone in a few of the shots, so had to throw those out. As I was shooting with my little autofocus camera (on manual setting, of course), a security guard came toward me and informed me that no professional photography was allowed. I really had to laugh out loud! I said that I was a tourist, just taking a couple of photographs to show the folks back home. He said that this fountain and backdrop is "iconic" of Pittsburgh and somehow protected. There was a sandwich board standing nearby with lots of "rules" posted about using the square, but nothing related to photographs. I just continued my walk.

The water feature has 140 columns of water that are dramatically illuminated at night by 280 underground lights. I may have been more successful under cover of darkness.
