Not 15 Nor 20 but 16
I have always thought this slightly odd, but the speed limit in our neighborhood is 16 mph. For most of my life I have been used to speed limits always conforming to the 5 mph increment rule 25, 30, 25 40, 45, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70. All of these seem to be universal in our home country UK, the Middle East and the US where we have also lived. When I lived in Europe, though the numbers were higher, the same formula seemed to apply, 115 kmh on the motorways for instance. But here we are in a little quirky corner of Euless and someone has clearly determined that, whilst 20 mph would be just too risky, the benefits of increasing from 15 to 16 mph has some merit - I'll probably never know why!
