Long long ago...

...at this time of the year, I was one of those struggling to get their baccalaureate, our high school final exam, sweating over - among other subjects - Friedrich Schiller's "Wilhelm Tell". (He was an exceptional crossbow shooter who had placed a bet that he would hit an apple (as a target) on his son's head. He did so, according to the legend.)
