Bratch Locks, Wombourne
I decided to revisit the Bratch Locks, Wombourne prior to an early morning spin class. The weather was sunny, still and cool. I watched as one group of holiday makers put their canal boat through the last of the locks and headed off into the sun.
The Bratch Locks are a noted feature of the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal which opened in 1772 as a three lock staircase. They were later re-engineered as three separate locks. The keepers cottage is just shown in the foreground with the elegant toll house in the distance.
