Goslings at Foulysyke Pond
At seven in the evening the parents have just walked
their eight goslings a hundred yards or more down the
road towards Scalby Village. They stand supreme in the
face of traffic like traffic wardens at a school crossing.
I had waited on their return wanting to get as close to
them as possible but at the same time taking in the
flowering shrubs in the background and their reflections
in the pond. Whilst I believe they have sharp teeth they
must have deemed my snake like approach to be more
humerous than pose any threat to them whatever as
they remained unmoved.
