Moon, stars and clouds

tonight i was playing with shutter speed and aperture (after understanding their concept and their relation, and thanks to friends who helped me on that). some of the results were totally surprising for me; for example after setting shutter speed, aperture and ISO speed i took photos from a dark room and the result was a bright room with a great resolution and details that i was n't expecting. and suddenly i got the idea of taking photos from sky and especially stars. after some tries i could take some photos with good details of stars and moon (brighter and better than i could see with my eyes)
my writing may sound dumb but it's really a new world for a newby SLR photographer like me.
