A taste of Jordan

Rozanne Chorlton had retired from Unicef after working as the charity's representative in Somalia. Last year as the flow of refugees from Syria into Jordan increased, she was 'recalled to life' to oversee the huge Al Zaatari camp. The post was a temporary one, for one or two months, until a permanent appointment was made, but Rozanne ended up staying for seven months. Now she is back home in Moniaive and came to talk to DGMA Women's Group today. Her presentation was fascinating and at times, moving - especially photos of the camp, stretching as far as the eye could see, and the faces of recently arrived children, traumatised by war.

The photo shows our enthusiasm for the pistachios and almonds which Rozanne brought to share.
