My Mum

Today it is ten years since my mum passed away. It has been good to reflect. Mum suffered many hardships during her life but she remained faithful, committed and loyal to the things that mattered to her. She was a dedicated follower of Jesus and even though her mind became significantly muddled with dementia she still had total confidence and clarity in what she believed.

This photo was taken around 1940, she would have been 25 years old. Mum was a keen photographer (I still have the camera that took this shot) and has provided us with albums full of images, although there are very few of herself.

I was surprised how clear this image turned out as, after I photographed the 105mm x 60mm original, I cropped it severely; the original was more like a shot of a tree that she happened to be standing in front of. :) Those old Kodak cameras were good!
