To Mrs. Roberts

Years ago I took piano lessons under Mrs. Roberts. She had a little room off of the band room at the high school and we could take weekly lessons. You started about 4th grade and since the elementary school was next door, you just walked over to the high school and took piano. Some continued with it, I did until I finished high school. There were a lot of people in this valley that took piano lessons over the years. (she taught my mom too) It was almost like a tradition.

Anyway, we always had the yearly recital at the end of May. She would fill the stage with buckets of peonies. I can't see the peonies blooming now without thinking of Mrs. Roberts. It was a good time.
