No cygnets

Whenever I visit I always look for the swans of 22 Feb. The last couple of times one was sitting on a nest but presumably none of the eggs or chicks have survived. Meanwhile the couple on the other little lake nearby are still expectant parents. The male continues to chase the ducks when they get too close but the female seems unperturbed by an inquisitive squirrel which scampersaround beside the nest. The 10 moorchicks are now down to 3 but nearby the Canadian Geese were proudly watching their 10 little goslings.
