For Dan

I have a friend who is a cathedral spotter.

We all used to laugh when he used to tell us about his book which has every cathedral in the UK. Every time he visited one he would log all the details in this. I suppose it sounds sad, but then I don't think it is any worse than my fascination with light houses, and I know it beats standing around cold wet railway platforms.

On my way home I was struck by the beauty of the lantern tower of St Nicholas Cathedral and it made me think I haven't seen Dan for ages.
