Canada Geese

I don’t know if it is just me. I find it very difficult to simply walk outside and dig up a photo. If I do the inspiration evaporates. I just need to have the camera nearby and hopefully something crops up during the day that is of vague interest (to me at least). I’m not talking about a planned sports event or visit to a wild life park, that’s a bit different.
While we were finished at a decent time our survey site was another part of industrial estate in Oban. There was a lot of litter and rubbish and there was the constant noise of traffic nearby. There were no mountain views, waterfalls or hill lochs. I had taken a few pictures for work but they were boring.

I stepped out of the house early evening, aimlessly, camera in hand, crossed the back garden fence and up the hill a bit. I couldn’t believe it. A big gaggle of geese took off from the field about 200 metres to the east and flew round south then west then north coming briefly straight towards me then swung west so that the big 4000 foot mountains were in brief backcloth as the graceful birds whooshed past.

This it two of them.

Thank you very much Daver64 for pointing out my poor bird identification earlier (We do get GL here too)
