Wistman's Wood

I walked out to Wistman's Wood from Two Bridges. In the walking groups we usually walk past on the nearby track but I wanted to explore it a little more today.

One of the highest oakwoods in the UK and a Site of Special Scientific Interest since 1964. Rocks (clitter) run all the way through it and are covered with thick mosses and lichen as are most of the branches on the stunted oak trees.

This was taken on the northern edge of the wood with Crow tor in the distance.
