Grooming and haircut (the dog)
I was watching TV last night and JR came in, having been to check on Archie who was in his play area, practising being on his own...
‘He’s done a big poo.’
‘Good! Did you pick it up?’
‘Er, no…’
'Well, do you think you could?'
‘Hmmm, OK then. But I won’t tell you next time…’
Yes, I am training more than a puppy here…
Archie and I have been watching the latest two episodes of The Good Wife. OMG! The DRAMA! One of us bawled the whole way through…
I gave him a good brushing - when he’s half asleep he just protests mildly. And I snipped the hair round his eyes, so he can see a bit better now. And we can see his eyes.
He loves lying on his special towel on the sofa. If I’d been lounging on a soft sofa, being stroked, and was then shoved outside to practise ‘being on my own’, I’d be howling the place down! But he just gives a wee whine.
A new activity: I now scatter his breakfast outside in his play area. Then he can’t gobble it down too fast, and it takes him ages finding it all. He’s just had his lunch served the same way.
I need to check out YouTube videos on how to:
Stop your dog charging through any open door.
Stop your dog jumping up.
In fact, he needs to learn WAIT!
It’s a pretty hard life being a puppy...
