Han's Graduation!

For the past four years we have served as the local family to Han, a Chinese student at Mount Holyoke College (Marylee's alma mater). Han received her B.A. today, magna cum laude. I captured this shot just after the cere1mony; Han's mother, visiting from China, is on the left, and Marylee of course is on the right.

We had lunch nearby to catch up. Han heads off tomorrow for a trip across the U.S. with her mother and a friend, including a visit to Yellowstone National Park. She'll then spent next year in China in an internship and plans to apply to graduate schools in the U.S. So we hope to see her back stateside by the fall of 2015.

Han spend a "year abroad" at Oxford in 2012-13, and we put her up when she visited Paris for a week in March 2013.

Four years ago our previous host student, Li Li, also from China graduated, and I posted this blip from the same area--at the grave of Mary Lyon, the founder of Mount Holyoke College.
