View point
This is the view point from the end of Hadrians Wall, it may be the start but it is an end cos its not in the middle.
This view point in a little village near burgh by sands formed part of our 30 mile go sky ride cycle ride. It was a well organised event, there were 10 of us, 3 of those were leaders. One lead, one brought up the rear and one somewhere in the middle. It was a well paced ride and no one left behind.
The weather was kind, not too hot, not too cold, only a slight breeze but not bad wind (jayne)!
We learnt some things today too. I learnt how to use my gears a little more. I also learnt that being prepared with puncture repair kit and new inner tube are totally useless if you don't have a pump to pump it up with. I didn't have a puncture, which was just as well since I have no pump!
My friend was described as brave! Brave to do our 30 mile ride on mountain bike tyres! We would learn it would slow her down so she needs new tyres that are for roads not mountains. I think she rode the best out of all if us because even though she was slower going up the hills (her tyres slowed her down) she still caught up on the flat so i think she must have cycled faster than everyone else. So, well done.
We visited a few little villages and had a nice stop at a guest house, whose name escapes me but we had tea and tea cake. Very nice.
We left for our ride at 10am and after our little stop somewhere near the end of Hadrians Wall we arrived back around 1.30pm.
We had a good day, some good banter between the two of us, obviously some totes inappropriate discussions but also we had the chance to meet and talk to other people.
I would definitely recomend these rides to other people we had a lovely time.
The photo doesn't actually capture the view from the View Point.
