No wombles!!!

.... But did see a bunny, moorhens and coots with their young plus some fox cubs on the way back.

Mum and dad left early this morning (before I got up !!! :-/ ) for their journey back to Cornwall. It has been a glorious day here today so lots of washing done and relaxing in the garden. It was lovely to have supper outside too. This evening I went for a walk over the common with Bex and Josh and this is a view of Queensmere.

Queensmere is by far the deepest lake on the Commons and is shrouded on all sides by a variety of mature trees. Created to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria, it was excavated on an area of previously flat marshy grassland, crossed by a stream. Prior to the formation of the mere by damming, the location was said to be very fashionable and attracted large numbers of local visitors on bank holidays. In the 1830s, the meadow acted as the focal point on the Commons for a number of duels until, in 1838, a man was shot dead and thereafter duelling was prohibited.

Millie has been very poorly today too.
