Wings over troubled…..

Well, today was the last day at our garden centre for their 20 per cent discount so it was an opportunity to photograph another of the birds of prey there.

This is Islay, a three-year-old Harris Hawk.
How did the handler get her to open her wings for the photo?
Quite simple. He rolled his arm back and she spread her wings to re-balance herself.


Met an octogenarian academic friend I had not seen for a while. I complimented him on his rude health.
“Academics never retire, they just loose their faculties.”
