Jumping for joy!

We had such a wonderful time at the beach today! The weather was perfect and as the tide came in Monkey ran gloriously towards the water and jumped in, then crawled in on his belly (fully dressed), shouting, "I LOVE the seaside!". Of course I forgot to bring spare clothes as I really did not contemplate them getting into the water for some reason. I thought it might still be too cold and they would maybe just want to dip their feet in or wade in up to their knees but, no. I should know by now not to underestimate Monkey and the million ways he has of doing exactly the opposite of what I think. Anyway, the water was warm and inviting. The kids ran around in it for ages and I think it's the most fun they have had at the beach ever! I did get a tiny bit worried when we were wading out and I saw a jellyfish float by. I don't like not being able to see where my feet are stepping but tried to stay calm anyway and avoided Mr. Jelly.

We also found a live mollusk which I've never seen before. We watched it for a while, digging it's foot into the sand and trying to bury itself. Such a strange creature. That's probably what it thinks about us, too.
