We'll Gather Lilacs !
In 1998 , as I prepared to leave my home in Whitehaven to move to Greystoke, I picked a twig from the lilac tree in my garden.
My mother had, for the fifty years we lived there, gathered all the blooms and put them in a container on the tiles of the fireplace. They didn't last very long but the smell was gorgeous.
I intended to plant the twig in my new garden and continue the memory. I was blessed, the twig flourished and I now have my own lilac tree to provided today's blip.
I looks as though it's "time to gather lilacs in the Spring again"
