Keeping cool

... on a warm day at the Tees Barrage White Water Rafting Centre.

This is an artificial course built in 1995 on the banks of the river Tees.
It can rely on the tidal flow of the river, or at other times there are four impressive Archimedes' screw pumps which lift water to the top the course.

I haven't tried it myself, but wouldn't mind a go sometime!
