New Toy?

I do like a gadget. I am not sure this counts as a gadget, but it certainly attracts attention which is no doubt its purpose. The local ice cream shop had this ice cream cart parked outside. It is the first time we have seen it and it appears to be purely a decorative advertising tool to attract people to the shop.

The ice cream shop really had no reason to advertise today, when we went inside it was packed. After a pause for lunch, followed by the ice-cream we decided to take a short walk along the Greenway. This is a path that runs along the coast for maybe 15 miles or so. We only intended to do a mile or so. We actually ended up two villages further south on the lake at Sala Comacina.

At this point I thought we might have got a but to return, but the buses seem to be infrequent on a Sunday so we ended up walking back to the apartment. In reality not a long walk, about five miles there and back. Not so far, but neither of us were wearing shoes adapt for the conditions.

The local bar was open as we returned but we bravely passed by without stopping.

Earlier while we had lunch by the lake we were able to watch boats coming in for supplies. Unless everybody is disembarking for lunch it is usually the female crew member who is dropped off to acquire provisions. There was an amusing incident when one person went in to the bar to get sandwiches, when she returned to the jetty her boat had disappeared. She started on her sandwich but eventually spotted her boat at a different jetty further way from the bar. We formed the impression she informed her companion what she thought of him drifting away to a different jetty!
