Three long-time friends meet
to play games, sip tea and chat,
sharing and caring

I got to be a taxi today for my friend, Eva. She doesn't drive and couldn't get public transit on this holiday weekend. For many years now she has socialized with two other retired teachers. These lovely ladies have worked full time while raising families in the days when teacher salaries were not very high. They each have faced their difficulties and challenges, yet each remains bright and positive about the world around them.
Norma (in pink) is the oldest. She will be 90 this year. She remains very active, enjoying her garden and is still driving her own vehicle. Eva (in grey) will be 83 this summer. She broke both hips last year, the first in January, then the other in April. She is just now weaning herself off a walker. Rita (in burgundy/black) recovered from an auto-immune disease last year which affected her muscles and left her immobile for several months.
These ladies remain upbeat and so enjoy their get-togethers to play Mexican Train (dominoes game) and Skip-Bo (card game). I was very happy to assist and to take some photos of their happy afternoon together.
