Little Pig Robinson.........

....Was here. Well, so says popular local history. Amongst the Lyme Regis literary credits to Jane Austen and John Fowles you will find this little bridge by Middle Mill and the River Lim. Apparently on page 38 of the famous Beatrix Potter story, Little Pig Robinson crosses this bridge into town. She was known to have holidayed here so I'm sure it must be true !

Anyway, all I know is that I cross it on my walk into Lyme, which I did again today (and home again as Mr H was at a meeting in Exeter all day) and it's a brilliant bridge for playing Pooh sticks from as any of my children will tell you !
