Home Sweet Home

This swan has chosen to make her home in a very public place, just next to the ferry terminal in Como. It also looks a bit damp around the nest as the waves obviously break over this landing stage from time time. Mr swan was also in attendance, though not doing anything of any obvious benefit, just generally fussing around. The nest is so well built I wonder if she has had some human assistance.

Back in Como very briefly today, in and out on the bus this time. On the way into Como there was brilliant sunshine, but by the time I took this photograph an hour or so later it had clouded over. The skies did not clear until the evening, still very windy, so not weather for sitting outside. The forecast is for the wind to drop tomorrow and for consistent sunshine. Better weather for the swans I think.
