BlipaEwan 74...

This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I take the same photo in the same place each 1st and 15th of each month along with a wee diary of what has happened and how life has progressed for each of them. Bethany on the 1st and Ewan on the 15th. It is quite remarkable and is accentuated by the 1 year ago thumbnail down in the bottom right.

I've had the last week off and so been taking the kids to school and picking them up. Taking the dog has added a nice interesting layer of complication to the process. I've been letting them take their bikes and scooters. Ewan has taken to wanting to take his scooter on the skatepark with his friends. He's only been going up and down the small kickers but doing wee hops at the top of the banks. I'm trying to in-still skatepark etiquette and awareness. Speaking of scooters, Ewan invented a new trick on his scooter. He called it the one-ey hop. It's a bunny hop but he takes one foot off. Quite a good name for a trick.

With his sister enjoying Brownies so much, we floated the idea of Beavers with him now that he's old enough. As is usual, the unknown quantity was poo pooed and he said he didn't want to do it. We found out that a couple of his friends from school go on a Tuesday night. That's all it took. I went along, to see if they have space and he starts next week. Quite handily, the troop is just across the road from the Brownies and he will finish 15 minutes after we've dropped off Bethany.

Ewan had some of that 'family involvement' homework this month. He was asked to build a musical instrument. We went for a LagerPhone, as suggested by his mum's visiting Australian Uncle. It's basically a stick with beer bottle nailed to it. We also made a sound box with elastic bands across the front. I did all the cutting and initial placing of nails but but Ewan did all the final hammering and all the decorating.
