Bluebell Woods at Brunt

My friends, Eric (photographer ) and John (artist) were out with me this morning in the bluebell woods at Brunt. Unlike most of the UK, where most of the bluebells are dying off, our bluebells are just fully coming into bloom. Today was a lovely morning to be in these woods and the light was constantly changing with the clouds giving a lovely dappled effect through the woodland. I don’t think any of us had seen such a beautiful and extensive bluebell habitat previously. The woodland also benefits from the fact that it is on the side of a glen which mean that the light coming through the trees is reflected light from the other side of the valley so the contrast are not too extreme, It was almost difficult to know where to start as the bluebells stretched away into the distance. What I found hardest was isolating a reasonable foreground where the focal point was going to be as it was hard to find any empty patches at the edge of the bluebells. I took loads of pictures and no doubt with time I will be able to put together quite a few reasonable images but I will let you know when I have managed this and included some in my blipfolio. For time being I have chosen an image where the light and shade flows right through the image and the crooked trees add shape and structure.

Worth seeing LARGE for the detail
