Chasing the moon

OK - I'm a little late posting so hope that's not a sign of things to come in the new year!

Whilst everyone else was preparing for a new year knees up I decided on an alternative approach - head out with camera and catch some of the party-goers warming up for the event.

I didn't get more than a few hundred metres down the road when this montrously large, bright and truly awesome moon poked it's head up over the hills.

Forget the people - the moon was just tooooooo much - and so began my chase for the moon.

This one was shot at the Boulder Bank - it was blowing a gale, I didn't have my tripod, I'd only got jandals on (tough walking on rocks!!) and it was freezing! Some summer's night huh?! Anyway, this is actually an amalgamation of 2 shots, one being a hand-held slow shutter in the wind. Of all the shots I took I really liked the slightly ethereal atmosphere that the hand held blur gives it.

Score for the year so far - moon 1, party-goers nil!

Oh, and I'd forgotten that this is actually a blue moon too - a very cool one :)
