'16th on the 16th..May Wedding'
Today is my daughter Kelly and son-in-law Martins 16th Wedding Anniversary..married in1998.
It was a beautiful day..a heatwave actually that had been going on for several weeks.....but very windy. The photographer had problems as the brides veil kept shooting up into the air. The wedding was in St. John's Church, Polegate and then a double decker bus took the guests through Wannock and Jevington to Birling Gap where we had a lovely reception. The photo here...which I have tried to photograph (hopefully) was taken on the cliffs at Birling Gap. Today huge areas of the cliffs have been reclaimed by the sea and this year has been particularly bad, hitting the headline news. Guests from Suffolk, Essex, Hampshire, Sussex, North Yorkshire, Scotland, America and Germany enjoyed the bus ride through the wonderful scenery and were very impressed with the setting for the reception. We wanted a simple unsophisticated wedding and thats what we had. Birling Gap is no longer a Hotel ...its now owned by the National Trust.
Kelly and Martin are a wonderful couple, work very hard..and have given us four terrific Grandsons.
I wish them a 'A Very Happy Wedding Anniversary' and looking forward to visiting them tomorrow for the weekend!.
