G, across the road from Mum's house, is passionate about his lawn. Puts putting greens to shame. He's just hollow-tined it, removed the plugs, sanded (4 wheelbarrow loads), brushed, and fed, and reseeded.. Taken a couple of mornings, and looks a bit of a mess. Give it a fortnight, and it'll be a championship standard putting green..

I go over mine two or three times a year with a strimmer..
