garden wildlife

a day of wildlife in the garden. we've had a little baby hare living in our garden for a couple of weeks. this morning bella put out some food for it and made it a little bed out of the grass i cut yesterday. today she came home from school to find a little field mouse snuggled up in the centre of the nest. the leveret was hopping about happily, and the swallows were busy doing some home repairs. so wonderful for a little girl for an actual creature to come and adopt a nest she has made! can't beat country living. i saw a weasel (or maybe stoat) at our gate the other day too.

and bella had another wonderful school report. she's a clever little girl and very lovely too, if i do say so myself :)
