The birds love them

Started off a bit cloudy this morning but in the end it was another lovely day. I had to stay at home as I was waiting for a parcel delivery. The parcel arrived around 3pm so after that I was able to go out into the back garden and ( finally ) finish off staining the fence.

My blip shot is of some dried mealworms which I put out for the birds. I hate them. All dry, and wrinkly - and they smell terrible. However the birds do love them. According to Wikipedia mealworms are edible for humans. Baked or fried mealworms are marketed as a healthful snack food. That's one snack I will not be trying.
