Kettering

With some time to spare this morning I had a stroll into Kettering Town Centre . It has a fairly typical pedestrianised precinct but the old market square seems to have had a recent overhaul. The square is overlooked by the parish church and there is an attractive water feature. A building previously housing the Hippodrome cinema is a bit run down but a couple o interesting plaques caught my attention. There is also a timeline outlining some of the history of the town including reference to Charles Wickstead who invented the children's slide and one of the artists on The Eagle comic
