Today's the day ....................... to put the tent up

If I'm honest, it's probably thirty years since I last slept under canvas.

But if you go to a Folk Festival - that's obviously what you do, isn't it? And that's where we were headed today - the 13th Moniaive Folk Festival in the depths of Dumfries & Galloway. It may be a small village, but its aspirations are high and the Festival programme gets better every year.

It started off with a grand ceilidh dance to get everyone in the mood. Soon you could hardly move for live musicians doing their thing in every available corner of the two village pubs and all the other performing spaces that had been set up for the weekend.

There really is such a lot of musical talent about ......................
