Sunset over Rydal Water

An evening of rare treats. A trip into the Lake District, and a blip meet at Rydal Water. Draco is one of Gus's greatest fans, and so knowing that she was in the Lake District for a week long photofest, we simply had to facilitate a dogmeet for them. You never quite know if those you meet on the internet will be quite what you expected when you meet them in real life. I think it fair to say that Gus lived up to all of Draco's expectations, despite being a bit smaller than she thought. So it seems that blipstars, like movie stars, tend to be smaller in real life than they appear on the screen.

With Draco were two of her blip pals, PaulaK and Catchapman. Together they make the three Blipperteers, and they are following a manic, if slightly randomised, photo schedule. We picked the perfect evening for a meet, a warm dry evening with cloudy blue skies giving way to a colourful sunset. Rydal Water proved a good location with woods full of bluebells, slate quarry caves with reflecting pools and dragons, and the lake itself that as the evening progressed became calm and mirrored.

There is something about the people attracted to blip world, they get on immediately. It was a lovely evening, and nearly three hours fled past. Wifie and I were hungry on the way home and we diverted to Staveley for a beer and a packet of crisps in the Hawkshead Brewery Tap. It was full of fiddle players bowing.
