Vascular Dementia

Today I went to Bognor with my Aunt to visit her husband who is in a care home as he has advanced vascular dementia.

Its the first time I have seen him for quite a few years. He always teased me as a child for my strong Yorkshire accent as he has always lived on the south coast. As soon as I spoke to him it was obvious he knew my voice and I got a lovely smile - but he wouldn't open his eyes.

I've visited lots of places I went when I came down here on holiday and stayed with my grandparents. My aunt has lots of old family photos and its been amazing hearing stories that I never knew and adding to the family tree.

Finally I took some flowers to the cemetery where my grandparents are.
