Start of the Day

When the builders left on Friday they said, ‘see you on Wednesday’ so we were up at 0630 hours ready for their arrival; they did not appear. Then at 1000 hours the steelworkers arrived to start erecting the steelwork, there have been some problems. It looks similar to this at the end of the day, although it is now straight and standing up on it own. As you can see the lawn has disappeared; I am assured it will regrow and everything will be fine when it is finished; I am still a doubting Thomas Susan.

I have spent the day providing coffee, tea, cold drinks, cake and biscuits, as well as going over the information in the module I tutor in readiness for script marking later this month.

The cats were once again kept in, much to their disgust although Florence spent a while watching the proceedings through the window. There was no heavy machinery moving today so they would have been relatively safe, but they were much safer indoors.
