Tate Modern today, for the Matisse cut-outs show. It was jaw dropping, and just very moving to see such an expression of life and vitality from the frail old artist. I was touched to read his idea that the enormously vibrant 'The Parakeet and the Mermaid', pasted to the wall of his apartment, was an attempt to bring the garden into his room when he was to frail to go outside.

This guy was outside, and is clearly a descendent of the 'Viennese variation on a bum' from Before Sunrise.
