Saint Nikolas

Not a selfie, but the inside of a small church a hours walk away from were we are staying. It is dedicated to a Christian of the forth century called Nikolas who became venerated in many Christian traditions. Sadly as I have mentioned in previous blips, the legacy isn't so much encouragement to follow and worship the living Christ in spirit and truth, rather a belief that the images and relics themselves contain an inherent power to bestow blessing.
