………. Sweet Home
Today, we enjoy blue skies and warm sunshine after the rain.
This has been taken on the patio with the glass-topped table capturing the reflections and the pergola casting shadows on the walls of the house.
UPDATE on yesterday’s blip photo.
Thanks to Bunty and Ingeborg, the flower has been identified as
Arisarum proboscideum (Mouse Plant)
- The mouse tail plant is a member of the Arum family.
- Native to Spain and Italy
- It is a woodland plant
Mouse tail plants have extremely unusual chocolate-coloured flowers that are cylindrical and sit below the leaves with only little “tails” visible.
Mice appear in very early spring.
In colder zones the leaves start later in the season, & the mice may appear before the leaves entirely hide them.
In New Zealand it is autumn so I don’t know why this is flowering out of season!
