The Protector

Here's an unusual sight. The biggest of the mallard drakes is escorting this duck and her ducklings around Nanpantan Reservoir. The lake is rife with other males, but they seem to know that they shouldn't bother her now.

Or at least, that's how I'd like to think it is.
