The Acclimatisation Stage...

Did you know that proper skateboards aren't made by single companies. The different constitute parts are made by different companies. The wheels, the bearings, the board, the trucks (axels), even the bolts can all be made by different companies.

You can change one part to freshen it up a bit or replace, say a snapped board or worn out set of wheels. This doesn't change the overall feel of how it rides, just makes things work better. Today I got my first chance to proper road test the newly built, everything new, 'wool into wood' skateboard.

I found that my local skatepark (pictured) feels rather smaller when you're not running on flat spotted wheels and 7 year old bearings. It is rather nice and glidey....and fast!!
