Solitude
Reno Fire Lookout, Apache National Forest. Yes I did go up and met Don who's worked with the forest service as a lookout for the past six years, three on Escudilla before the Wallow fire and now three years here. I took a few more snaps which I posted on Flickr. If I remember rightly (without searching the web) the tower is 53 feet. Relative humidity was 26% at noon. That's part of the lookout's job at the start of each day: weather report. Scan horizon every fifteen minutes. And know the difference between mist and smoke!
Red Flag. No Fires. High winds.
Compare with scanned snaps Kathy took when she worked at this lookout in 2000.
