Do you remember....

..the good idea to stay overnight in Manchester to avoid the football crowds?

Left Manchester Oxford Road.... delayed a little stuck behind a freight train.

Arrived Lockerbie. Doors opened and invited to take fresh air on the platform, because "we are blocked ahead and may be some time!"

Then, "a transformer has blown on the line ahead. We will have to return to Carlisle and get buses organised!" But first of all we had to go ahead to Beattock so that the train could turn round. Eventually, back to Carlisle, queue of hundreds, then on to buses to Edinburgh, two and a half hours.

The journey? Eight hours!!!!!

I hope it's better to London on Wednesday!
