Holland by rail

One of The Netherlands' trademark yellow trains poised to pull out of a station near Amsterdam this New Year's Eve. The double-decker trains, introduced quite a few years ago, are an answer to capacity problems. The Dutch rail network is among the densest in Europe, although it went belly-up in a spectacular style on account of snow a week ago. Nonetheless, I will say that NS (and other operators) provide one of the best rail services in Europe.

To all blippers, have a safe end to 2009 and all the best for a blipful 2010!
